U.S. courthouse rededication ceremony honors Japanese American WWII vet
Tosh Tokunaga jumped out of airplanes for the United States during World War II as part of an Airborne Division that fought in Europe. On June 21, he was present at the rededication ceremony of the United States Courthouse in downtown Seattle to pay tribute to William Kenzo Nakamura, a Japanese American WWII veteran that gave his life for the United States.
Korean American stays close to her roots and helps people with the U.S. Coast Guard
Petty Officer Third Class Julie Rowe, a health services technician at the Integrated Support Command Seattle medical clinic, is all too familiar with the term “melting pot,” a variety of races, cultures, and individuals assimilating into a cohesive whole, which she along with many other Coast Guard members fit right into.

Komen for the Cure’s 16th annual race was held at Qwest Field. Team Josie’s Angels was headed by Rosale Meriales. The team was named in honor of Josephine Malana, a two-year cancer survivor and Meriales’ older sister. ♦

‘Evangelion’ film a good addition to anime

“Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone” (a film adapted from the Japanese science fiction anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion”) is set in the not-too-distant future, in a city called Tokyo-3. The buildings shimmer in a heat wave. The streets are suspiciously empty. A huge spray suddely sprouts out over the water.
