Korean-American student from Tacoma wins statewide art contest

Tacoma student Young-eon Kim won the top prize in the 2013 Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Year of the Apple Art Contest. A student attending Tacoma’s Charles Wright Academy, she was awarded the grand prize in a surprise ceremony in the middle of art class with teacher Brian Hutcheson on Sept. 12. Read the full story
