Rob McKenna is opening his first Seattle office in the International District on 6th Avenue and King Street, at the space formerly occupied by International Model Toys. “Thanks to our very strong Asian American coalition, our office there will be very busy,” said McKenna. Annie Zhou, former intern at the Tacoma World Trade Center, will be the field coordinator for McKenna’s Seattle office. According to Zhou, no state governor or candidate has ever opened an office in the International District. The campaign office’s grand opening ceremony will be on May 20 at 4 p.m. (end)

Three Chinatown organizations impressed Congressman Jay Inslee, a gubernatorial candidate, with their history, a toast, Chinese welcoming sign, and reception in his honor on Jan 8.
