JACL sweets fund scholarship

The JACL-Seattle chapter held its 92nd annual banquet and scholarship fundraiser on March 21 at Seattle University. More than 270 people attended, including Aki Sogabe, who received the Unsung Hero award, Francisco Irigon, recipient of the Community Engagement award, and Marsha Aizumi, who was given the Special Civil Rights Achievement award. The event raised over $30,000, including $11,000 scholarships. Entertainment was provided by Bon Odori dancers and Relay Dance Collective with Seattle Kokon Taiko. (end)
