Ethnic police honored at awards banquet

About 200 people showed up to honor local police at the 2013 Ethnic Community Awards Banquet on Nov. 12 at the Filipino Community Center. The “Community Achievement Award” was given to Sergeant Jay Shin, and also to Mayor Mike McGinn for all he did for the ethnic community over the years.

Attendees included the Chief of Police Jim Pugel, King County Sheriff John Urquhart, Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke, and several judges and council members.

Twenty-five awards went to members of the Seattle Police Department. (end)
