The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Lunar New Year Gala on Thursday, Feb. 21, bringing together over 380 community members and guests.

A portion of the proceeds from the sold out event went to local nonprofits International District Emergency Center (IDEC) and Kin On Healthcare, as well as the Chamber of Commerce’s own Ambassador Youth Leadership Program.

IDEC and Kin On received $2,000 each, totaling $4,000 donated to local nonprofits.

The Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce also hosts monthly leadership luncheons, administers the Miss Chinese Seattle Scholarship Program for Women, and organizes the annual Chinatown Seafair Parade.

Most recently, they sponsored Miss Chinatown Seattle Leah Li’s trip to the 2013 Miss Chinatown USA pageant, where she won both the Miss Talent and Miss Chinatown titles. (end)
