More than 100 workers, seniors, and grassroots activists gathered with Working Washington at a rally at First Hill’s hospital district on August 30. Participants later marched through downtown Seattle to Rob McKenna’s campaign office to speak out against McKenna’s agenda, which will force cuts to Medicaid and other services.

At the rally at First Hill, 17-year-old emcee Khoa Nguyen introduced the speakers, Medicare recipient Mila Dolan and healthcare worker Carole Green. They spoke of the need to preserve Medicare and the importance of affordable healthcare. Other organizations that participated in the rally include Washington CAN!, Fuse, SEIU 1199NW, and SEIU 775.
