The Northwest Asian Weekly 30th Anniversary Gala, to be hosted on Oct. 5 at the Seattle Sheraton, will be crawling with Seattle-area celebrities. In addition to KOMO news anchor Molly Shen and former KIRO chief meteorologist Andy Wappler, who will both be hosting the event, are former City Councilmember Dolores Sibonga; former King County Executive Ron Sims; Mimi Gates, Director of the Seattle Art Museum; King County Executive Dow Constantine; former Executive Director of Inter*Im Bob Santos; former Executive Director of the SCIDpda Sue Taoka; and Washington State Supreme Court Justice Steve Gonzalez.

Sims, Gates, Sibonga, and Constantine will take part in the Northwest Asian Weekly roast, taking their best shots at Publisher Ng. Bob Santos will be singing Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Justice Gonzalez will be singing “La Bamba.”

Gubernatorial candidates Jay Inslee and Rob McKenna will also be in attendance and will make an on-stage appearance at the beginning of the dinner.

The event will commence with a dragon parade performed by VIPs leading to the seating area. (end)
