About 360 people attended the Seattle Chinese Drill Team’s 60th anniversary celebration at the Renton Pavilion Event Center on July 21. The celebration was marked with performances by the current drill team and a special performance was done in honor of Cheryl Chow, one of Seattle Chinese Drill Team’s key members. Chow started with the Drill Team at 6 years old, eventually becoming an instructor in 1970. The celebration also included fundraising efforts like the silent auction benefiting the Drill Team’s Academic scholarships and general operating fund, which raised $40,000. (end)
