The Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team will celebrate its 60th anniversary on July 21 at 6 p.m. at the Renton Pavilion Event Center. The event will include a silent auction to benefit the drill team’s academic scholarships and general operating fund. In the past 60 years, more than 1,020 girls have participated on the drill team, with members of the original 1952 team still residing in the Seattle area. Funds raised from the event will provide uniforms, equipment, transportation, insurance, and food to team members and their families. Tickets to the event are $75. (end)
