Helping Link, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Vietnamese community, created a Computer Lab Marketing Initiative to offer new computer courses designed for Vietnamese adults who have little to no experience with computers. Helping Link will provide classes like Basic Computer Skills, the Internet and E-Mail, Creating Resumes, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Social Media, and more. Instructors include college students, professionals, and volunteers working in the Informational Technology field. The computer lab aims to provide refugees, immigrant youth, adults, and seniors with access to computer technology. The new computer lab is equipped with 10 stations and a projector, and is located in the International District at 1032 South Jackson Street. Classes will run for 10 weeks with two-hour lectures twice a week from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Outside of classroom hours, the lab is available to the public daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (end)
