Filipino elementary school students shine in spelling bee and math competition

On Feb. 29, the Filipino Community of Seattle (FCS) announced its spelling bee and math competition winners.

First-place spelling bee winners were Cattlin Milanes (first grade), Christian Alviz (second grade), Mikayla Dy (third grade), Jazel Abella (fourth grade), and Michelle Villafuerte (fifth grade).

Second-place spelling bee winners were Rasi McCarter (first grade), Kahrissa Marin (second grade), Genesis Dacayanan (third grade), Rian Jasmine Quiban (fourth grade), and Michah Daranciang (fifth grade).

Math competition winners were Kengli Fu, Elijah Lorraine Tugade, Aminat Sanusi, and Jennifer Palomo. (end)
