Sept. 18: NW Budo Association awards local organizations

The Pacific Northwest Budo Association Board of Directors

The Edmonds-based nonprofit Pacific Northwest Budo Association (PNBA) announced its 2011 Grant Award recipients for promoting Japanese cultural and martial arts in the Pacific Northwest.

The PNBA Board of Directors presented its most prestigious grant award to the Urasenke Foundation Seattle branch.

The Pacific Northwest Budo Association’s Board of Directors also awarded grants to the local martial arts organizations AiShinKai, LLC, and the Pacific Northwest Kendo Federation.

Grants supporting the cultural arts were also awarded to the Seattle Kobe Sister Cities Organization, the Shoreline Arts Festival Culture Rooms, Japan-America Society in Washington, and the Hyogo Business and Cultural Center. (end)
