The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA)’s Seattle chapter attended the AAJA National Convention in Detroit this year and took home four awards.
Seattle Times Publisher Frank Blethen won the Special Recognition Award for his mentoring and promotion of Asian American managers and support of AAJA, even during tough economic times.
Sharon Pian Chan won the Executive Leadership Program’s Outstanding Leadership Award. Sanjay Bhatt won the Chapter President of the Year and the Gannett Award for Innovation in Watchdog Journalism. (end)
