June 8: Mayor McGinn honors Tet in Seattle with award

The Seattle Arts Commission recommended six recipients from a pool of more than 300 public nominations for the Mayor’s Arts Awards, which recognizes the contributions made by artists, arts and cultural organizations, and community members who make a difference through arts and cultural activities.

The recipients of the 2011 Mayor’s Arts Awards are choreographer and artistic director of Spectrum Dance Theater Donald Byrd, Jack Straw Productions, musician and professor Quinton Morris, On the Boards, Pratt Fine Arts Center, and Tet in Seattle.

The recipients will be honored at the Mayor’s Arts Awards ceremony on Sept. 1 at Seattle Center on the North Fountain Lawn. ♦
