May 5: Publisher Assunta Ng honored with Odegaard Award

Assunta Ng, founder and publisher of the Seattle Chinese Post and Northwest Asian Weekly, was the 2011 recipient of the University of Washington’s Charles E. Odegaard Award, which is considered the highest achievement in diversity at the UW.

Ng was presented her award at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center during a dinner and scholarship fundraiser for the UW Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity and Friends of the Educational Opportunity Program (FEOP).

About 500 people attended the event, and $229,857 net was raised for the FEOP scholarship fund. ♦
