Two businesses owned by Asian Americans won the Seattle Mayor’s Small Business Award.

Shen Consulting, Inc. won for its contributions to some major projects at Sea-Tac Airport, such as the third runway, the rental car facility, and floor count signs at the airport parking garage. Shen Consulting is a program and project planning, design, and construction management company. Its founder and CEO is Albert Shen.

Schemata Workshop won for its full-service architectural practice.

Husband and wife team Grace Kim and Mike Mariano founded the practice in 2004, after 12 years of working in Seattle and Chicago.

Kim and Mariano both have 16 years of  experience in architecture.  ♦
