I took my kids to China in 2007. Very good investment.

They saw what their ancestors created 5,000 years ago, eager to see what they can do today. They surely are more confident than before.

If you go, I would highly recommend:

Beijing Imperial Palace and Summer Palace --- the largest palace in the world.
The Xian underground Army and Beijing History Museum --- the past power and glory.
My sons really love the high speed train ride from Beijing to Tianjing. The soon to be largest and fastest commercial train network in the world. The Beijing South railway station is also a plus.
