Bellevue City council members Patsy Bonincontri and Conrad Lee have both announced their intentions to seek re-election to the council.

In a statement, Bonincontri stated, “I had the good fortune of serving on the Bellevue City Council for the past year as an appointee. … With lots of thoughts into public service and its implications, I have decided that I will run for my current position which expires at the end of the year.”

In a release, Lee said, “I am just as excited as when I first ran 18 years ago. I am proud of being the change agent that has helped bring fiscal responsibility and strong financial condition to the city.”

Lee is the first minority elected to the council. Lee says he intends to continue to do everything he can in a fiscally responsible way to keep the city financially strong, attract families and businesses to Bellevue, as well as work with regional, state, and federal government on public safety, transportation, and preserving communities and neighborhoods.

A former project manager at Puget Sound Energy and an architect by training, Bonincontri was the second minority after Lee to be appointed to the council.

Her interests includes supporting public safety, developing an arts culture, protecting the environment, and adding parks and open spaces. ♦
